Did you know? Dolphins and other animals have always used sound waves for navigation, or finding their way around when they can't see. This animal technology inspired the human invention SONAR (sound navigation and ranging).
The first patent involving this technology was awarded in 1913, one year after the Titanic disaster. SONAR is used today on ships and submarines.
