Let's get started! We keep calling it "your invention" but that's not very, um, inventive, not to mention potentially confusing. So you'll need a name. Think up something creative! Stuck? Name it after yourself like Linus Torvalds did- we know his computer operating system as Linux.

A visual aid is next. A model or prototype helps people see your invention before you build the real thing. Prototypes don't actually need to work, they just need to help people understand what it could do.
